The Most Beneficial Fitness Equipment for your Cardio Workout

Cardiovascular workouts are a great way to stay in shape, help you lose weight and keep your heart healthy. Regardless of your personal workout level you should consider getting some basic fitness equipment that you can use at home to make your workouts more effective.

 

A treadmill is one of the best pieces of equipment that you can get. You can use this machine for walking and jogging. You are able to adjust the settings to give you the workout that matches your level. You will want a treadmill that has a steady pace to it and a belt that is large enough for your full stride.

Many people are also very fond of the stationary bike. This is a great piece of equipment whether you area beginner or an expert. You will get a low impact workout that is easy on your joints.

Many people have decided that they would prefer to use an elliptical trainer as opposed to a treadmill or a bike. An elliptical trainer is a combination between a bike and treadmill and the movements can be quite difficult to get used to. If you are interested in buying an elliptical trainer be sure to test it out at your gym to make sure that you like the movement and are able to do it.

Step machines are a great way to get a good workout for your lower body. It is like walking up and down flights of stairs except that it has zero impact. You are able to adjust the resistance to get a more intense workout.

If you are very into exercising and are looking for a great machine to workout the whole body you should consider a rowing machine. You will especially get a great upper body workout. Be sure to use this piece of fitness equipment properly or you can end up with back strain.

If you are interested in getting a bit of strength training in as well you can simply add some resistant equipment to your cardiovascular workout. You can simply add strap on weights to your ankles or wrists. In addition you may also want to consider getting some basic free weights so you can add variety into your workout. Many people also find that resistance bands are great because they are inexpensive, easy to use and can be stored anywhere.

If you are going to be doing a lot of cardiovascular workouts then you want to add some things to help give you variety. You may want to get a balance ball or a jump rope. A balance ball will help you develop your core strength and coordination. Jumping rope is a great way to increase the heart rate.

If you are regularly working out you will want to make your workout routines as enjoyable as possible. Many people like to listen to music when they exercise so consider getting a small stereo or an Mp3 player. You may also want to consider getting a workout video to give you some motivation.
